Living and working in our handpicked resorts of Verbier, Méribel, and Nendaz, many returning year on year; they’ve got the inside scoop on the most unforgettable spots and the best slopes. It’s not just a job; it’s a lifestyle that keeps them coming back for more, and they endeavour to share that passion with you!
Our chalet hosts are the heartbeat of Ski Armadillo, chosen for their knack for balancing refinement and relaxation. Over our training week, the newer team members became acquainted with our chalet portfolio and undertook meticulous inventories to ensure everything was in its right place, down to the last teaspoon. All hailing from backgrounds in luxury service, they already know their way around a napkin fold, but this was a chance for everyone to come together, get to know each other, and get our renowned in-chalet service down to a T.
Meet the culinary maestros – our Private Chefs. These kitchen wizards aren’t just about cooking; their mission is to create a dining experience that’ll leave a lasting impression. Picture gourmet meals served with a side of stunning mountain views; a feast for your taste buds and your eyes! And if one night you’re simply craving a no-frills, parmesan-loaded bowl of pasta, just say the word. They take their cues from you.
We certainly weren’t complaining when we were treated to test dinners whipped up by each chef over the training week. From Alan’s Argentinian Barbecue feast (cooked over coal on the terrace as snow dumped down!) to Rina’s delicious gourmet spread and a slightly less-successful fondue night hosted by James, our Operations Director (don’t worry, he won’t be in the kitchen during your stay) we indulged in a week of culinary delights from around the globe.
Meet our squad of drivers – the unsung heroes of your alpine adventure. They’re not just getting you from A to B; they’re your guides to the secret spots and the best après-ski haunts. Once the season kicks off, our team works around the clock to keep the magic alive 24/7. It’s a juggling act of going above and beyond while making everything seem effortless, and we like to think we’ve perfected it. Our friends at The Rabbit Hutch, a local speakeasy-style Verbier bar, have crafted a bespoke in-chalet cocktail menu exclusive to Ski Armadillo with delicious creations, including the ‘Basil-Honey Sour’ & ‘Armadillo Punch’. Our team can now serve you super tasty, bar-quality concoctions in the comfort of your ski chalet. Afterwards, we welcomed talented Wine Educator Claire on behalf of Le Verre Gourmand to brush up our team’s knowledge of our meticulously chosen house bottles. From artisanal natural whites to delicious velvety reds, we indulged in a full tasting and learned about everything from growing conditions to mouthfeel. It’s a tough job, but someone had to do it!
